U16 at home Vs Valley Rovers

Valley Rovers made the trip to Killeagh to play us  in our last league play off game. Hopes were high after our win over  Newtownshandrum the previous week  but it was a must win game.
Hannah Looney opened our scoring with a point and Leah Mcevoy followed it shortly with a well taken free.Valleys followed that up very quickly with a goal. Hannah had our first goal and the rest of the scores of that half belonged to Leah ( 1-3) to leave the half time score 2-6 to 1-0
Clodagh Tyrell after a great game was forced to retire with a leg injury and was replaced by Ava Burns who did very well when introduced.Young Sinead Landers had our first goal of the second half,it was quickly cancelled out by a Valleys goal. Tit for tat Hannah had two points Valleys had two more . Leah had a point and unfortunately through injury she was unable to run any more but in the great spirit of the girl she donned the goalies jersey  and Ciara Motherway came out-field.As the light was fading Valleys hit a purple patch and scored three goals in succession to give us the fright of our lives, thankfully there  was still energy in hannahs tank and she put three more points over the  bar to see us run out winners,3-12 to 4-3. Well done girls ,that now will see us contest the league semi-final against Cloghdubh in the coming weeks.
