Senior semi fianl

We headed to Castle Road on Friday 17th with the hope of reaching the senior league final but sadly it was not to be.
Ballincollig were our opponents and we knew this was going to be a tough physical game and this is just what it was. Annie Walsh opened the scoring with a point and similar reply came from ballincollig. Angela Walsh got us a goal but despite a lot of ball it was to be our last score of the first half.while Ballincollig tagged on three more points to leave us level and all to play for in the second half.
A penalty early in the second half gave us a life line but unfortunately a point was all in resulted in. Despite many chances scores did not come our way. Ballincollig seemed to be constantly loose and picking up ball all over the field and ending in a run of 5 points without reply from us. Hanna Looney pointed and Angela Walsh goaled after receiving a lovely pass from Laura Treacy. We were level again. Ballincollig the more hungry team on the night. They scored two more points before we had our last from Angela to leave the final score 12 points to 2-4 in Ballincolligs favour  Some great saves were brought off by Stefanie on the night but over all a much greater team effort will be required if we are to take the championship seriously.

To our many girls who are in their final weeks of study for the leaving and junior cert, we say keep the hard work going, you are nearly there. The very best of luck with the exams.
