C.I.T. was the place to be on Wed last, to see the excitement of camogie at its best.

Our senior team took on Ballinhassig in the Co. Quarter Final. The large crowd in attendance were treated to a host of great goals, super saves and some brilliant hooking and blocking.

Ballinhassig were first to score and had two points on the board before a great shot from Angela Walsh went straight to the back of the net. Yet again Ballinhassig got two more points. Kate Murphy pointed a free. Ballinhassig had a goal and a point to put them 3 up.The back line of Marie Smiddy, Aoife Walsh, Ellen Benaim stood strong. Kate, Hannah Looney and Noelle o Donovan all took points to draw us level. A long range ball from Angela went straight to the back of the net. Jess o Shea had her first point of the night. Ballinhassig had their sixth. Stefanie Beausang deflected a penalty out over the end line,Ballinhassig scored the 45 to leave the half time score 2-7 to 1-7 in our favour.

Jess o Shea (having the game of her life ) opened our second half score with a point. A pass from Noelle to Kate got us goal no 3. Noelle showed her talent in getting point no 9. we seemed to be cruising, but Ballinghassig had other ideas. A point and two quick goals had them right back in the game in a few minutes. A few sets of fresh legs were introduced by Kevin and J.P.Kate pointed from a laura Treacy pass. Ballinhassig had their fourth goal and we were trailing by a point again. Not for long decided Kate as she struck our fourth goal. Ballinhassig kept coming at us with points, Angela and Hannah replied to seal victory by just 1 point giving a final score of 4-12 to 4-11.Well done girls!

A semi-final against Ballincollig in early Oct is the next step for us.
